What we can help with

  • Calculation corrections — a bracket, wage base, standard deduction or state rate that looks out of date or wrong for your situation.
  • New tools and states — tell us which calculator or which state page you'd like next; requests genuinely decide what we build.
  • Bugs and display problems — a result that doesn't update, a broken layout on your device, or a page that won't load.
  • Press, data and licensing — questions about how our figures are sourced or requests to cite them.

Reporting a calculation you think is wrong

Tax estimates depend on inputs that aren't always visible in a screenshot, so the fastest way to get a fix is to include:

  1. The page you used and the exact figures you entered.
  2. Your filing status, state and pay frequency.
  3. The number you expected instead, and where it came from.
  4. A source we can check — an IRS page, a state revenue site or a payslip.

One thing worth checking first: our take-home figures cover federal income tax, Social Security, Medicare and state income tax. They don't include local or city taxes, 401(k) contributions, health premiums or wage garnishments, so a payslip will normally show a lower net figure than the calculator.

Most questions we receive are already answered by one of the tools or guides:

PayFigures publishes estimates for planning, not tax advice. For a filing decision or anything involving a tax authority, speak to a qualified accountant or tax professional in your state. You can read more about how we build and check our tools on the about page.
